10 CMD commands for Windows that every user should know

This is something we can do through a command prompt window by simply typing the CMD command in the search box on the taskbar. We can also make use of the PowerShell tool which is implemented in the operating system itself in order to start working based on commands and get the most out of Windows.

Perhaps less experienced users here are not too inclined to use this type of commands that must be typed on the corresponding line. But once we get used to them, or at least those that will be useful to us, we will see that it is worth it. Furthermore, the most common thing in this case is use a series of parameters attached to the orders themselves in order to personalize their use and adapt it to our needs.

Commands you should know in Windows

Below we are going to mention 10 commands that you should know, whether you are novice or experienced Windows users.

SFC /scannow. This is a very useful command that is responsible for analyzing the operating system’s own files in search of possible errors to solve errors in Windows. Therefore, it will help us to fix errors in Microsoft software that are caused by an error in its own native files.

shutdown. Sometimes we need to customize the shutdown of our computer, something that we can do easily thanks to this very useful command. For example, we can use it in small programs in the form of batch files that we create from here.

DISM. Its real meaning is Deployment Image & Servicing Management and it is an order that is responsible for repairing corrupt Windows files that at any given time prevent the proper functioning of the system. Like SFC, it will be very useful when it comes to fixing multiple errors in the operating system.

PING. Here we have another command to check the status of our connection. If problems are detected, it is used to identify their cause and help us resolve errors with said connection.

CLEANMGR: In this case we find another that allows us to clean hard drives of unnecessary files. This will help us when it comes to freeing up space.

CHKDSK. Many of you may be familiar with this one that checks the integrity of disk drives. In addition, it offers a status report for each of them so that we can solve their errors.

FORMAT. It is very possible that this order does not need an introduction, since it is basically responsible for formatting a hard drive completely and thus eliminating everything stored on it. This is a command with which we must be very careful.

HELP: thanks to this command we will be able to obtain all the parameters that we can use in each of the commands specified here.

POWERCFG. With this other proposal we will obtain from the command line a complete detailed report on the energy consumption of the PC.

IPCONFIG. Through this order we will have the possibility of seeing all the information related to the equipment’s network cards on the screen.
