160 enemy types and 80 bosses? This could be the promise of Black Myth Wukong, one of the most anticipated games of this year

After a new trailer that once again demonstrates the graphic slap that we are going to take and gameplay that is already appealing, Black Myth Wukong is definitely one of the big releases this end of summer that we should not miss.

The game from Chinese studio Game Science is already shaping up to be a serious contender for game of the year, and even more so since a leaker decided to give more details about the game. We are likely to eat very, very well.

Monster Content for Black Myth Wukong

On X, leaker Ignusthewise revealed several pieces of information regarding the content of Black Myth Wukong, which should obviously be taken with a pinch of salt until the next official announcements from the developers, which we can strongly expect in about 2 weeks during the Summer Game Fest, where pre-orders are likely to open.

The game would have:

  • From New Game+ as soon as it is released,
  • Multiple endings,
  • More than 160 types of enemies,
  • More than 80 bumps,
  • And it would be slightly simpler than the “soulsborne”

A dizzying content that looks extremely promising if the gameplay and story follow in view of what the trailers show! The players in the comments obviously hope of variety among the many enemy types and bosses announced, it seems almost unrealistic to have so many different patterns per boss and enemy types.

But who knows, Black Myth Wukong could be the big surprise of this year and make everyone agree that Chinese studios are now capable of releasing high-quality AAA titles that can compete with Japan and the West. Stellar Blade paved the way for South Korea, Black Myth Wukong may well do the same for China.

A potential game of the year?

Since its first announcement in 2020, Black Myth Wukong has been eager to be explored. We will embody Sun Wukongthe legendary Monkey King of Chinese mythology and 16th-century novel “The Pilgrimage to the West” from Wu’Chengen.

Could the game claim the ultimate title of game of the year? The current favorite seems to be FFVII Rebirth but there are still many months to go before the decision, and surprises like Stellar Blade or Black Myth Wukong could well rise up in this competition.

Black Myth Wukong will be released next August 20th on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it.
