Pokémon GO’s sixth anniversary has started this Wednesday July 6 at 10:00 a.m. and allows players to capture some exclusive disguised creatures but also to enjoy many bonuses via quests. In this guide, you will find all the steps of the anniversary mission to complete, as well as the associated rewards. Note that the event only takes place until July 12, 2022 at 8:00 p.m.
Anniversary event study
You can find this study in the left tab “Today” of your quests since it is not a special study of Professor Willow. To succeed in the entire quest, you will have to complete 6 steps composed of several missions. Some require being able to move around but also having a close friend (or another account on another phone).
Birthday Event Study – Step 1/6
- Catch 15 Pokémon. Reward: 15 Pokéballs
- Catch 5 different species of Pokémon. Reward: 10 Superballs
- Make 5 Nice Throws. Reward: 5 Hyperballs
- Make 3 Superb Throws. Reward: 500 XP
- Make 5 effect throws. Reward: meet Trompignon (available in shiny)
- Use 10 Berries to help you catch Pokémon. Reward: 500 Stardust
Final rewards: x1 Poffin + 1 encounter with costumed Pikachu (birthday hat)
Birthday Event Study – Step 2/6
- Play with your buddy. Reward: 5 Framby Berries
- Give your buddy a treat. Reward: 5 Nanab Berries
- Take a picture of your boyfriend. Reward: 5 Nanana Berries
- Battle another Trainer alongside your Buddy Pokémon during your adventures**. Reward: 500 XP
- Earn 5 hearts with your buddy. Reward: Meet Eevee (available in shiny)
- Earn a Candy by exploring with your buddy. Reward: 500 Stardust
Final Rewards: 2500 Stardust + 1 encounter with Costumed Charmander (Party Hat)
**For the mission “Fight another Trainer alongside your Buddy Pokémon during your adventures” you must do the following:
- Choose a Pokémon to put as a Pokémon Buddy (in your profile, this is the Pokémon that is next to you),
- Play with him (click on him to launch augmented reality) and give him berries (or a Poffin) so that his treat level is at maximum,
- Thanks to this, he will follow you on the field!
- Now, send a battle request to a nearby friend (or scan their battle QR code) to start a Trainer Battle. Be careful, this does not work against Team GO Rocket or via remote PvP. You must be level 10 to unlock the battle system.
- The quest should now be complete.
Birthday Event Study – Step 3/6
- Take 5 photos of a wild Pokémon. Reward: 5 Potions
- Take a picture of a Charmander. Reward: 5 Reminders
- Take a picture of your buddy. Reward: 15 Pokéballs
- Take a picture of 5 different Pokémon. Reward: 500 XP
- Take a photo of a Normal-type Pokémon. Reward: Encounter with Meowth (available as a shiny)
- Take a photo of three different Fire-, Grass-, or Water-type Pokémon. Reward: 500 Stardust
Final rewards: x1 Unys Stone + 1 encounter with Flamajou
Birthday Event Study – Step 4/6
- Spin 5 PokéStops or Gyms. Reward: 20 Pokéballs
- Hatch an egg. Reward: 3 Golden Raspberry Berries
- Walk 2 km. Reward: 3 Silver Nanana Berries
- Earn a Candy by exploring with your buddy. Reward: 500 XP
- Complete 5 field studies. Reward: 3 Super Candies
- Fight 3 times in an arena. Reward: 500 Stardust
Final Rewards: x1 Premium Raid Pass + 1 encounter with Griknot
Birthday Event Study – Step 5/6
- Send 5 gifts to friends. Reward: 5 Super Potions
- Send 5 gifts with stickers to friends. Reward: 5 Reminders
- Transfer 15 Pokémon. Reward: 500 XP
- Fight in 2 Raids. Reward: 1 Instant Attack TM
- Win 1 Raid of 1-star level or higher. Reward: 1 Charged Attack TM
- Recharge 1 Pokémon 10 times. Reward: 500 Stardust
Final Rewards: x1 Team GO Rocket Radar + 1 encounter with Snorlax
Birthday Event Study – Step 6/6
- Collect your reward: 1000 XP

Some additional tips
- Don’t forget that this event lets you catch exclusive costumed Pokémon like Pikachu with the birthday hat or Charizard with a party cap,
- A box free is available in the Shop with 6 Hyperballs, 6 Star Pieces, 6 Max Recalls and 6 Hyper Potions,
- Zarbi E (available in shiny) is in 1-star Raids! Just like Pikachu with Birthday Hat and Flamajou,
- Special field studies are available with interesting rewards like Mega Energy but also, and above all, encounters with all the starters of the game!
