On July 6, 2016, Pokémon GO was released and here we are in July 2023, 7 years later. The opportunity to celebrate the seventh anniversary of this title signed Niantic highlighting our favorite little monsters with a celebration that will please you.
7 Years of Pokémon GO: Event Details
The Hidden Gems season is in full swing and during this period, we will be treated to the game’s 7th anniversary. To celebrate this, Niantic has reserved a celebration worthy of a League Master. It takes place from Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 8:00 p.m.. You will be able to discover two new costumed Pokémon during this period. Finally, they are rather evolutions of one of the monsters already available.
- Start of Carabaffe wearing a party hat and Tortank wearing a party hat.
In addition to being able to obtain these evolutions, you will be able to enjoy a maximum of bonuses in order to have a good time during this celebration. Pay close attention to see which bonus is available on the day you log in.
- Increased probability of becoming Lucky Friends.
- Increased chance of obtaining Lucky Pokémon through trading.
- Probability of finding 7.77 Mordudor Coins (or more) when spinning a PokéStop with a Golden Lure Module.
- July 6: XP ×2 for each Pokémon captured.
- July 7: Stardust ×2 for each Pokémon caught.
- July 8: Candy ×2 for each Pokémon caught.
- July 9: Hatching distance halved when Eggs are placed in an Incubator on this day.
- July 10: Friendship levels will increase 2x faster.
- July 11: Candy ×2 for each Pokémon transfer.
- July 12: XP ×2 for each evolved Pokémon.
Pokémon GO Study: Shiny Mew is back!
There will be two paid studies available during the event. The first is a one-time study and the second is the Master Study to obtain shiny Mew.

- Available during the event if you log in on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. and Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 8:00 p.m. Once this deadline has passed, you will no longer be able to retrieve it, however, you can continue it if you already have it.
- Those who have already received the Masterwork Study will have these additional bonuses: Doubled duration of Incense, Daily Adventure Incense, and Lure Module.
