In 2019, the fifth generation of creatures made its appearance on Pokémon GO. For the occasion, a new object was also introduced into the game: the Unys Stoneallowing you to evolve certain Pokémon. Just like the Sinnoh Stone before it, it is difficult to find and you will have to be patient or play daily to hope to get one.
How to get a Unys Stone?
Initially, in 2019, the only way to obtain a Unys Stone was to carry out a series of 7 field studies (study phase) in order to hopefully collect it as a final reward, in addition to the appearance of the monthly Pokémon. Now, you can also obtain a Unova Stone by doing spin Pokéstops or fighting Team GO Rocket. Some special studies sometimes allow you to have the item as a reward.
As stated on the item’s official in-game description, the Unova Stone is famous for its faded black and white appearance. Of course, this is a reference to the Black and White versions released in 2011 on the Nintendo DS. Complementary as the Yin and Yangboth versions featured the Legendaries Reshiram and Zekrom. Like many fans, we secretly hope that the next Pokémon Legends takes place in the Unova region of the past!
Which Pokémon evolve using the Unova Stone?
Of course, the Unova Stone is a mandatory evolution item for certain Pokémon species, in addition to the candy. Most of them come from 5G. Be careful though, the trio of monkeys is part of the Regional Pokémon ! Feuillajou is only found in Asia-Pacific, Flamajou is only available in Europe, Middle East, Africa and India, while Flotajou is only caught in the Americas and Greenland.
The Unys Stone is not the only one object of evolution available on Pokémon GO. The Sinnoh Stone, Enhancer, Dragon Scale, Metal Skin, Royal Rock, and Sun Stone are all equally useful and obtainable in the same way. Be sure to always have room in your backpack if you don’t want to miss out on getting these valuable items.
