Pokemon GO: Getting ready for 5G

We have known for a short time thatULTRA BONUS Pokémon GO will allow us to capture the very first 5G Pokémon in September. If Tic, Ratentif and Ponchiot will soon be in the game, there is no doubt that their friends will soon join them.

The fifth generation is, to date, the one which contains the most Pokémon, namely 156 new creatures.

The new starters

Developments to prepare for

Unfortunately (or fortunately), there are NO Pokémon from the older generations that can evolve into the 5th generation. The 156 new Pokémon will therefore only be obtainable in the wild, in Raids, in Eggs, via special quests or via trade.

However, don’t forget that a new item will be available for 5G: the Unova Stone. This will probably allow you to evolve certain 5G Pokémon in addition to candy.

Pokémon that could use a Unova Stone

  • Chinchidou in Pashmilla
  • Lamprey in Ohmassacre
  • Munna and Mushana
  • Doudouvet in Farfaduvet (or a Sun Stone)
  • Chlorobule in Fragilady (or a Sun Stone)
  • Melancolux in Lugulabre

Victini

Just like Mew, Celebi, and Jirachi, Victini is a Mythical Pokémon that will probably be obtainable through special quests from Professor Willow. Be careful though, there are still a few Mythicals from 4G that have not yet been unlocked.

Theories about Regional Pokémon

Each generation of Pokémon on Pokémon GO has its share of Regionals. As a reminder, regional Pokémon are Pokémon that are only available in certain regions of the world. For example, Mr. Mime is dedicated to Europe. Rest assured, Niantic regularly offers events to capture these famous regionals.

Regarding 5G, here are some assumptions:

  • Feuillajou, Flamajou and Flotajou will probably be distributed in the 3 vertical slices of the planisphere
Pokemon GO
  • The Judokrak and Karaclée duo: east and west
  • Bargantua and Mamanbo: south and north
  • Maracachi: in the cities surrounding the deserts
  • Cryptero: For this one, we think it will be like Spiritombe, a reward from special quests on Halloween
  • Carapagos and Arkéapti: in the islands
  • Emolga: England or Canada
  • Frisian; probably exclusive to the USA

Vivaldaim: the Pokémon with 4 seasons

It’s very likely that 5G will bring a new feature to the game: the importance of seasons to capture different forms of Pokémon.
