The plates of the PS5 Slim and the PS5 Pro are the same size, but you will still have to buy them.
The announcement of the PlayStation 5 Pro shocked many with its selling price of 799 euros, rarely seen for a game console on the French market. For this price, you won’t even get a disc player, but only the console and the games in digital version.

We learn that the PlayStation 5 Pro is not compatible with the aesthetic plates designed for the 2023 PS5 Slim.
However, the “plates” in question are exactly the same size on PlayStation 5 Pro and PlayStation 5 Slim. So what’s the problem? The mounting brackets are not in exactly the same location, causing the incompatibility.
For an unknown reason, Sony therefore modified the design of the PS5’s interchangeable plates by only modifying the location of the hooks.
Fans who had purchased this type of customization elements will therefore have to go back to checkout if they decide to get a PS5 Pro.
Everything suggests that this is an artificial demarcation in Sony’s range. Furthermore, this choice makes it impossible to install a special 30th anniversary PS5 Slim plate on an ordinary PS5 Pro for example.
