Barely released, Black Myth: Wukong has gone crazy, becoming almost instantly one of the most played games on Steam. Of course, playing takes time, and many will finally be able to devote themselves to it this weekend. This is not the case for the employees of this Chinese company who were offered a day off to test the title developed by Game Science. A nice proposition, which is not without conditions…
Playing…to help the boss?
It was on X that user Orikron shared his discovery. The Chinese company Chengdu Science and Technology has indeed offered its employees a day off to test the game, but under certain conditions. First of all, it is not about having fun, but rather studying Black Myth: Wukong. You must also have pre-ordered the game, and play it on PC or PlayStation 5.
But there are other conditions too. Staff members must complete their tasks and remain at their workstations, and they must also leave their phones on because “Mr. Lei may not be able to complete [le jeu] and might need help” (it is assumed that this is probably an executive, probably the director). The deluxe edition of the game (and coffee to stay awake) was also given away to anyone who wanted to participate.
Black Myth Wukong, already historic
Since its release, Black Myth Wukong has been breaking all the counters. Just a few hours after its launch, the game reached the stratospheric figure of 1.4 million simultaneous players. A staggering peak that places it in 4th place in the history of Steam after PUBG, Palworld, and Counter Strike 2. A peak quickly broken, since a new record was established today (not even an hour ago) with 2,415,714 players connected to the game !
Note that this is the best launch for a single-player game, a real feat. Now it remains to be seen whether Black Myth Wukong will manage to beat PUBG’s 3.2 million!
