Where is and how to defeat the Yellow Wind King in Black Myth Wukong – Black Myth: Wukong

While it is true that Black Myth: Wukong has a lot of bosses, the most important ones are those at the end of each chapter. If in chapter 1 we had Kuai Black Bear, in the second it is the turn of the King of the Yellow Wind, a formidable enemy that I will teach you to defeat.

Where is the Yellow Wind King in Black Myth: Wukong

This will be the last story fight you do in the chapter 2 of the game, and thus cannot be skipped. You will find the Yellow Wind King once you pass through the Wind Seal Gate. Once there, go down the path in front of you and you will reach his combat area.

How to beat the Yellow Wind King in Black Myth: Wukong

The first thing you have to keep in mind is that the Yellow Wind King, either has a lot of life, or a lot of defenseYou’re going to do very little damage to him, so you need to optimize your gear as much as possible. On the other hand, as for which spirit to use, I recommend the Tiger Acolyte, as it has decent range and lots and lots of damage.

As for spells, Solid rock is a great help in this fight, and will allow you to get some very solid last-minute counterattacks. As always, you have to add to this the incredibly powerful immobilizer. That said, let’s look at the strategy to defeat this formidable boss:

Phase 1

  • Strung and jumped: The King stabs his weapon into the ground, then jumps up and stomps the ground. Easy to dodge and with plenty of time for punishment. In its second phase, the stomp does area damage.
  • Quad Combo: With his spear, the boss strikes four times, the fourth of these attacks dealing damage around the tip of the weapon. Dodge it close to the enemy so it’s easy to avoid damage and punish. Has a jump variation for the last attack that’s a bit more powerful.
  • Spiritual stomp: A stomp without his first attack that creates a wave around the foot. You need a perfect dodge to be able to take advantage of this damage window.

Phase 2

  • Wind Shape: When you take half of the King’s life, he will transform into a version of himself made of wind and sand, and attack you with different techniques. You can’t hurt him, so just dodge.
  • Stomp Key: At the end of this phase, the King will jump on you to try to stomp you. If he hits you, he will start a devastating grab. Dodge him without worrying about punishing unless you are very sure of your technique. Always jump a little before stomping on you.
  • Let the sands tremble: When the boss’s hand glows, he will stab the ground with his spear. After that, there will be an explosion around him. Be careful.
  • Statue punch: The King will scream and a statue will fall from the sky. It’s a spectacular attack, but with a ridiculously wide dodge window.
  • Combo with jump: He will jump at you, then back, then do a jumping spin attack at you. Punish this last one.
  • Tornado Summoning: The King summons a tornado that will roam around the fight once you reach 25% health. If it hits you, it will launch you into the air, cut off your combos and deal damage. Be careful.
  • Air launch: A vertical blow from bottom to top that, if it hits you, is also a devastating grab. It’s easy to dodge, but don’t get distracted by the tornado.
  • Wind waves: The king’s spear strikes now shoot waves that will damage you if they hit you.

As you can see, the final test in Chapter 2 will have you on the ropes. Once you’re done, you can continue with the story. Congratulations!
