To open loot boxes, doors, and other access points in Star Wars Outlaws, you’ll need to use your Data Spike and complete a rhythm minigame. Here’s how to do it, and how to make lockpicking easier.
Very early on in the Star Wars Outlaws adventure, you’ll receive a highly useful item called the Data Spike. Since R2-D2 and BD-1 aren’t there to do it for you, this tool can unlock any door or deactivate alarms for example, but its operation is quite special.
How to pick locks in Star Wars Outlaws?
This is quite common in games of this genre, but a simple interaction with the door will not be enough to open it. With your data spike in hand, insert it into the lock and you will have to succeed in a rhythm mini gameThe goal is to click the buttons on your controller or mouse at the right time: that is, at the same time as the flashing lights.
It is best to play with the sound for better rhythm management. Listen carefully to the sound signal while observing the yellow and blue lights that are flashing and try to press at the same time.
How to pass the rhythm mini-game?
If you can’t do the rhythm game or you can’t do it, know that it is possible to remove it. In the game settings, it is indeed possible to adjust the difficulty of the lockpicking: by selecting the “easy” mode, this completely cancels the obligation to do it. Be careful though, the mini-game will start no matter what but even if you miss the rhythm, the lockpicking will be successful.
