Yet another tower in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom that unfortunately requires more than just clicking “A”. This new puzzle will probably annoy you if you don’t use the elements available around it properly.
Activate the Tower of Obscurity Ruins
- Region : Ordinn, north of the great forest of Hyrule
- Issue : the mechanism does not want to turn on because the opening at the very top of the Tower is blocked by something,
- Solution : climb as high as possible and remove the slab blocking the hole,
Arriving from the Ordinn region or the great Hyrule forest, you will inevitably come across this tower, which is a little more complicated to activate than the others. There, you will meet Piquieh who will explain to you that the mechanism is blocked and that you will probably have to unjam it by going over it.
Around the outpost, look up a bit to see some large floating platforms. With your Grasp power, your goal is to grab one and attach two jet missiles to the top. If you can’t grab the objects, gain some height by climbing the ruins.
Once both thrusters are attached (points up), climb onto the platform and tap on them to activate them. You will fly higher than the tower. Use the parasail to gently descend and land on the yellow circle on the tower, just below the platform blocking the hole.
Once again, with Grip, move the slab to free the passage and hear the typical Zelda puzzle-solving sound. Go back down to the bottom to talk to Piquieh so he can repair the mechanism and you can activate the Tower. You will also need this outpost when you complete the secondary quest [Fouille des ruines des obscurcies].
Unlock all TotK observation towers
If you want to map out your entire Hyrule map before embarking on in-depth exploration or completing the main quests, then you will need to go through the 15 rounds available on the Surface. This will also unlock the sky map for you at the same time. As for the Depths, you need to illuminate them using the roots.
And while some are very simple to activate (you just have to open the doors), others like the one on the Plain are a little more complex.
