Another of our favorite Zelda Breath of the Wild armors makes a comeback in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, but you’re going to have to earn it. A permanent damage boost in combat is very useful after all, especially in a game that encourages you to not get hit by enemies or you’ll die. Its appearance won’t convince everyone, however, since its style doesn’t really match Link’s. He’d need more muscles and a big beard to go with it.
How to get the Barbarian outfit?
Don’t expect to find it in stores, you don’t become a real barbarian by spending Rubies. It is found in well-hidden chests, deep in various caves. Unless you know exactly where to look, it is possible to finish the game without ever coming across it. We will show you the position of each piece individually, with their coordinates, a map and instructions each time.
Torso – Barbarian Vest

This piece of armor is quite close to Hyrule Castle, so it can be obtained quickly. Head east, then look for theentrance to a cave on the opposite bank, its coordinates are 0624, 0807, 0027.
The cave is full of Nox veins, so bring something to mine. Also collect the Bomb Flowers that are lying around. You will also meet a Lithorok Nox boss, but you are not forced to kill him to get the armor. Instead, observe the walls, you will see a passage high up blocked by many rocks. The easiest is to shoot an arrow with the Amalgam power and a Bomb Flower (that’s good). Climb into the new cave that has been opened, you will discover a small altar, with a chest, and the armor.

Getting the next piece of the set will be more complicated. You have to push almost to the eastern border of the continent. We advise you to use the Lanayru Reconnaissance Tower as a starting point. Go down the mountain by going southeast, in order to reach the Ziqa Isen Sanctuary. The entrance to the Mont Noillet cave is opposite. It is very cold, so bring food or suitable armor. The coordinates are 4257, -1683, 0180.
This cave is full of ore, ice, and monsters. A full group of black goblins, with a leader, patrols even at the entrance. Further on, the area is full of trolls and tentacles clinging to the walls. Prepare to fight, or run very fast.
Take the upper path into the cave, keeping an eye on the right wall. You will eventually see a small room, with an altar and the chest with the desired contents. The precise coordinates are 4077, -1901, 0163.
But we will have to make one last effort before we can open it, since the chest is stuck in a block of ice, which must be melted. You can do this in a brute fashion, throwing fire fruits, bomb flowers, or fire weapons, such as a ruby wand. But it’s best to be frugal and use a good old campfire. Setting a bundle of wood and a flint next to it, then hitting them with a metal weapon, will start a fire, which will melt the entire ice cube in a matter of seconds.

The last piece is also in a cave, located between the village of Cocorico, and the village of ElimithThe entrance is marked by numerous small statues.
The cave on the Pursa Plateau is a bit special, since it is a kind of puzzle. In order to get the helmet, you must follow the right path, indicated by a group of 3 statues each time. You can explore the other passages, they contain interesting elements, but also enemies. It’s up to you to decide whether you prefer to rush towards your objective, or to search everything thoroughly.
The game will quickly try to confuse you, by putting statues everywhere, but they are always the 3 statues together that indicate the right path. Also plan to break the rocks, several passages are completely blocked by rocks.
You will eventually arrive in a large room, full of goblins, accompanied by a leader. Kill all these little people, then take a look through the gate, we can see the reward chest. Now, destroy the rock plug in the middle of the room, in order to arrive in a new passage.
When you reach a room with 3 groups of statues and 3 flat rocks, the message is clear: you have to choose where you are going to use the Infiltration power, in the ceiling. The correct answer is the rock on the right, with 3 statues. But you can explore the other passages too, this will bring you back to the goblin room.
The right passage will take you to the other side of the wooden barrier, along with the chest and the helmet. The precise coordinates are 2541, -1542, -0023, although this won’t help you much, in this cave.
How to improve the outfit to max level?
As in Zelda Breath of the Wild, you will need to have access to the 4 great fairies if you want to upgrade your equipment to the maximum. To do this, you will need to complete a series of essential side quests which starts at the forest relayafter which they will offer you their services in exchange for components. This is why you should always be careful to save some precious resources.
The bonus activates when all 3 pieces of the set are upgraded to level 2, and you are wearing them all at once. It grants a reduction in the stamina cost of charged attacks. This is especially useful with two-handed weapons while you are spinning.
Unfortunately, this is one of the hardest gear sets to upgrade in the game. You’ll have to kill a lot of Lynels just to get to level 2, and it gets worse after that.
