Now that the gameplay is mastered and the hours of your beginnings on Zelda Tears of the Kingdom are far away, we tackle something a little heavier with tips that the game never clearly mentions. Today: how to find all the shrines and all the roots on the world map.
Map: How to find shrines and roots easily?
It’s simple and probably one of the most brilliant ideas in the world of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom: the depth map and the surface map are closely linked. On land, the rivers represent the borders of each portion of the underground level, but there is much more interesting! Concretely, 1 sanctuary = 1 root on the map. So, with a little method, it is very easy to explore both worlds and complete these points of interest easily. Have you just found a shrine? Then place a beacon at this location in the depths, a root is bound to be waiting for you there. And the reverse works too! The technique is unstoppable and it will have allowed us to drastically accelerate the exploration of Hyrule.
All the shrines, really?
So no, that’s not entirely true. While there is indeed an equivalence between the number of roots and sanctuaries, you will still have the question of the sanctuaries hidden in the different air spaces of the game to resolve.. There are about thirty of them and with one or two exceptions, you should have no trouble completing the shrine missions. It should also be understood that even if all the shrine locations on the surface are visible thanks to this trick, sometimes it will not be enough: the appearance of certain temples is subject to secondary objectives or puzzles. In short, even if it will help you greatly, you still have a lot of work to do for 100% sanctuaries.
