In Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, the valiant knight Link will once again have to do everything to save the princess. But this time, he will be able to count on the help of the powers entrusted by Rauru thanks to a mechanical arm. And if the first 4 powers are easily obtained during the first hours of play, without even having to leave the celestial island of the Prelude, the fifth and final skillit is much more complex to find. In this guide, we explain which quest line you need to follow to be able to unlock it and we advise you to do it as quickly as possible as it is so useful.
What quests should I follow to unlock the 5th power?
When you arrive at the Fort Guet For the first time, you will be able to find Pru’ha and complete the quest that asks you to go see Hox under the castle. After this, you will finally unlock your Parasail and the ability to activate observation towers to map the map of Hyrule.
Now, still at Fort Watch, talk to Josha to initiate the quest “People in the depths”. You will then have to fall into your first chasm, the one indicated on your map, and find a humanoid statue. This should not be too much of a problem: use the Lumos flowers to illuminate the depths and head northwest of the area to find Farras. He is next to one of the large roots serving as a teleportation point. He will give you access to the camera.
The Temple of the Deep
Once this mission is completed, you will need to advance the main quest of Pru’Ha, by going complete one of the 4 big temples from one of the regions (we recommend Hebra first). Back at Fort Watch, Josha will be able to give you the sequel called “The Temple of the Deep”. This time, the instructions are less clear and there is no point on the map to indicate where to go.
Your goal is to return to the depths to spot statues that all look in the direction of a large temple.
Where can I find the temple in question?
- Exact location : the chasm of the northern abyss of the Prelude
- Y access : Go through the Hyrule Field Observation Tower and head south to find a large miasma pit. Note that by opening your map, you can teleport to the Root Life Use for more speed.
Once in the chasm, follow Josha’s advice: spot the humanoid statues like the one you photographed the first time and head in the same direction as their arms. Start from the statue where Faras was, at the Root läy Usus.
If you come across a Gigatracian, you can dodge it or fight it by shooting an explosive arrow into its throat.
The Great Mine and the Duplicate Power
When you reach the end of the statues, you will come across a large mine with two NPCs and a golem that will give you the Duplicate power. It allows you to easily reproduce a vehicle that you created in your history. The two characters will also ask you to repair their vehicle on the left and to redo it on the right using the power.
Attention : Before duplicating the second vehicle, prepare yourself well by restoring your broken hearts (you can teleport to the surface and then return) and by concocting some dishes. A Boss fight will automatically start right after.
The fight against the Great Kohga
Even though you would like to use your Hold to destroy Kohga’s vehicle, it is impossible. The only way to defeat him is to attack him directly. The best here is to use a bow and explosive arrows (fire fruit or bomb flower) and aim at the head to destabilize him then attack him full force with a fast weapon like a spear or sword.
Repeat this as many times as necessary: shoot arrows to make him fall off the vehicle and hit him on the ground to cause maximum damage. In the third phase, he will charge at you and it will be harder to aim because his “windshield” will have a shield. Try to dodge him at the last moment and climb on the vehicle to fight him.
You will get a huge soneau energy crystal as a reward and a blueprint for an Airship to build at any time. Use it to head to the back of the cave!
