Each secret area in Black Myth Wukong has its own entry requirements. After the Warthog quest in Chapter 2, and Chen Loong’s Zodiac Village, here is a mountain full of poisonous enemies.
How to access the secret area?
The procedure to follow is relatively simple this time, although it is still possible to miss it. It does however involve defeating a boss multiple times.
The first step is to start from the‘Fragmented Jade Basin Altar’in the Cave of Webs. Instead of continuing down, explore the passage on the right. You will see a series of hanging cocoons, behind which is a building. In the middle of the area, you will find the Boss Cocoon strange, which must be attacked.
Once the cocoon is destroyed, the Venom Daoist will emerge, and the real fight begins. Bring something to cure the poison. When this boss is defeated, he will flee.
The second stage is not available until near the end of the chapter. In the Temple of Yellow Blossomgo to theAltar of the Entrance to the Temple. Exit the temple on the left, in order to climb the mountain path.
You will eventually find a large cave, in which the Venom Daoistfor a return match. Don’t underestimate him, he has two life bars and two phases.
After defeating him again, a painting will appear on one of the walls of the cave. All you have to do is interact with it, in order to be teleported to the secret area.
Secret Area: Purple Cloud Mountain
This secret realm is much larger than the ones in previous chapters. It hosts many enemies, two quests and two bosses. The first quest requires killing the bosses, the second cannot be completed at the moment.
The first boss is the Lord Scorpionwhose tail strikes are formidable. Break his jars of alcohol to engage in combat.
The second boss is a giant demonic chicken, the Veil of Twilight. Once again, do not underestimate him. His first phase is very easy, but when his life bar is depleted, he will go berserk. You gain a second life bar, and the fight will become much more difficult. Save your special abilities for this second phase.
Awards
You’ll find many useful items and consumables in the secret realm, including Kun Steel. But the most valuable gain is undoubtedly the Embroidery Needle. When activated, it will automatically fly from a distance to attack your enemies. This is a considerable asset that Wukong’s abilities were sorely lacking. Activate the needle during the second phase of the boss Hundred-Eyed Daoist Masterwhen it shines with a golden glowallows you to cancel his special power. This will make the fight much easier.
