There’s an incredible amount of gear being introduced in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, and going through it all can be a long process. After the expansion’s best Weapons and Ashes of War, it’s now Talismans’ turn.
Obviously, the value of a talisman depends almost entirely on the build being played, so we evaluated them for their potential impact in a build capable of making use of their bonus, as well as their general appeal.

Two-headed turtle talisman
The players’ wish has been granted, with this talisman improving the stamina regeneration of approximately +22.2%. A lot of builds require a significant amount of stamina to function properly, and with bosses performing ridiculously long attack chains, recovering stamina that much faster is important.
Position : You can find it deep in a cave, on a corpse, at the bottom of the northern section of the Grave Plain River Gorge. There are fluorescent blue worms in the area.
Talisman of the Dreadful
In the image of Bayle, this talisman increases magma damage by 14%. This probably doesn’t interest you unless you use Magma weapons, and especially the Blasphemous Blade. It will boost the damage of a weapon that is often considered the most powerful in the game, it’s just fantastic. It also works with Magma spells.
Position : In a cabin, at the easternmost point of the Sepulchral Plain. You have to go down into the poisoned swamp, not far from Thiollier, to reach the area near the first sealed Spiritual Source.
Two-handed sword talisman
Increases normal attacks and heavy (and charged) attacks of 2-handed melee weapons by +15%. This does not affect Ashes of War, Skills, or jump attacks. Bows and dual weapons are not affected. This is still a big bonus, very appreciable, for a large category of weapons. Its effect will be felt especially if you combine it with other talismans, such as the one that improves charged attacks.
Position : In a chest at the top of the ruins, in the lower section of the Rauh Ruins. You will need to climb the rubble with Torrent, or go through a hole in the wall, in order to climb up to his position.
Elemental Resistance Talismans +3
The expansion can be said to have changed the meta of gear, defense is incredibly important now, unless you’re incredibly good, or playing an OP build that’s likely to get nerfed soon. All bosses deal immense physical damage, but also enormous elemental damage, both with their spells, but also as a side effect of their hits. Combined with the Blessings of the Shadow Realm, these different talismans will prevent you from getting killed in one or two hits, since they reduce damage of the corresponding element by 22% (11% for all itemsin the case of the pearl one).
Magic Dragon Talisman Position +3 : Go down the slope below the entrance to Ensis Castle. There is a small room there.
Fire Dragon Talisman Stance +3 : In the cellar of the Fort of Reprimand, in Occult Altus. Climb the cages to reach the corner where this talisman is hidden.
Lightning Dragon Talisman Stance +3 : Climb to the first floor of the Seed Warehouse. Look for a normally inaccessible section of the floor below, then jump down. You can open the secret passage to the library afterwards.
Pearl Dragon Talisman Position : In the Black Castle, once on the 7th floor of the seed warehouse, use the lever to rotate the statues. Return to the 3rd floor so you can pick up this talisman on the head of one of the statues from a balcony.
Golden Braid Stance (Holy +3) : In Shaman Village, after the secret passage of the emote statue. Pick it up in a hollow tree.
Blade of Mercy
This talisman hasincreases all damage by +20% for 20 seconds after a critical hit. This effect is much easier to trigger than you might think, since it applies to surprise backstabs. It can help you get a good start in a fight, or pulverize a boss even more after a parry, or after breaking their posture with your attacks.
Position : This is literally the first talisman of the DLC, as it is found on top of the Burnt Ruins, in the middle of the Burial Plain.
Purple Seed Talisman +1
The expansion does not allow you to increase the number of healing vials, nor their power, and with 60 base Stamina for most players, two healing charges are no longer enough to recover all of your health. This talisman increases the +30% healing vial power. You will recover all your health this way. If we do a quick calculation, on a dozen healing vials, this corresponds to about an additional life bar. It is an excellent complement to defensive talismans.
Position : Begin Ymir’s quests, then blow the bell in the South Coast Ruins.
Blessed Blue Tear Talisman
By equipping it, you will regenerate 1 PC every 2 seconds. It doesn’t seem like much, but it’s a good way to completely skip Cerulean Vials if your build doesn’t consume a lot of CP. It’s also a good way to explore larger dungeons without having to rest. Equipping it before you have to AFK is also a possibility in order to come back with a full blue bar. In short, it’s a very handy and versatile tool, even if it probably won’t help you kill bosses.
Position : In the ruins of the church south of the rocky plateau overlooking the Plain of Sepulchre. You can reach this area by following the cliff, southwest of the entrance to Belurat.
Pearl Shield Talisman
When you’re not an expert at rolling, shields are often the only method of survival in Shadow of the Erdtree. But bosses use devastators, and even their various attacks often have an elemental effect that pierces shield resistances. Even the Shield of Footprints is far from having 100% elemental resistances. This talisman is the solution for tank builds, since it increases elemental resistance of shield guard by 20%. Adding your own resistances to it, the rest of the damage should just tickle.
Position : You will find it in a small, fairly discreet chest in a small Messmer guard camp in the Ruins of Rauh (bottom).
Exaltation of the old
Finally, this rather special talisman increases damage dealt by 20% for 20 seconds after a Madness-type affliction has triggered nearby, including on you. This has helped make it very popular in many “One Shot” builds since it is easy to trigger this effect on yourself before entering a fight.
Position : In the Abyssal Woods, you must successfully perform a parry on the Elder closest to the ruined church. This will end his invincibility, allowing him to be killed. The other Elders do not drop a talisman.
