2024 is the Year of the Dragon, and what could be better than a Lunar New Year event featuring many of these creatures in Pokémon GO. Dates, Pokémon present, new features… Here’s what you need to know to make the most of it.
The second event of this month of February 2024 will highlight the Chinese New Year in Pokémon GO. Enough to stock up on Dragon-type creatures.
Pokémon GO Lunar New Year: When is it and what bonuses are there?
In “Lunar New Year”, Dragon and Fire-type Pokémon will be in the spotlight. You will be able to encounter them in the wild, in raids as well as in field research phase rewards. All this will be accompanied by a global challenge, in which you will have to make 1,000,000,000 Pretty Throws, as well as a paid one-time research. In addition, Draïeul will be available for the first time in the game in normal and shiny versions.
Some bonuses will also be present during the event taking place from Monday, February 5, 2024 at 10 a.m. to Sunday, February 11, 2024 at 8 p.m.. Here they are:
- Increased chance of obtaining Lucky Pokémon when trading.
- Increased probability of becoming Lucky Friends.
- Earn extra Candy when you catch a Pokémon with a Nice Throw, Superb Throw, and Excellent Throw.
- Trainers level 31 and above will have a higher chance of receiving XL Candy when catching Pokémon with a Nice Throw, Great Throw, or Excellent Throw.
