The second part will not be available until October 5, but you will be able to obtain Cosmog from the start.
How to get Cosmog on Pokémon GO?
Currently, the only way to obtain it is to complete the new Special Research called: A Cosmic Companion.
It’s very simple since the final reward of step 1 of the quest will give you it for free and therefore it will not be able to escape. To obtain Cosmog candies, you will have to complete the other missions.

How to evolve Cosmog into Cosmovum?
It can evolve into Cosmovum and then Solgaleo and Lunala but only the first option is currently available.
- To evolve Cosmog into Cosmovum you must complete the quest A Cosmic Companion: this will allow you to obtain candies,
- You will need: 25 candies to make it evolve
If you don’t see the evolution option: relaunch the app and/or try setting Cosmog as a Buddy Pokémon.

The first part of the Special Study consists of 4 stages with various rewards.

- Catch 15 Pokémon – Reward: 5 Raspberry Berries
- Make 10 spin throws – Reward: Stari encounter

- Earn 15 Hearts with your Buddy Pokémon – Reward: Tarsal encounter
- Send 10 Gifts to your friends – Reward: Stari meeting
- Catch 20 different species of Pokémon – Reward: 25 Poké Balls
- Final Rewards: 5 Nanana Berries + 3000XP + 1000 Stardust
