almost a decade ago Hideo Kojima sHe surprised everyone by presenting a small work that he decided to put on the PlayStation Store completely free. It was the famous PT Demoa terrifying experience that drove Japanese fans crazy but that served as a weapon in the war it had with Konami willing to do anything to oust what was, for many years, its star developer.
That PT Demo It was one of the best things that happened at the beginning of PS4 but in 2015 Konami decided to put an end to any possibility of developing a title based on that idea and removed it from the PlayStation Store. Besides, it didn’t matter if you had downloaded it and added it to your collection because the Japanese even removed it from all libraries at that time. Only if you kept it installed on your console was it possible to continue enjoying that experience.
The demo returns to PS5 (without Kojima)
The fact is that, on a recurring basis, not only fans have asked Kojima if it was possible to resume the project and bring it to the present, but in many cases they have requested, without achieving anything, that that PT Demo would end up again PlayStation Store to recover the old sensations of such a nightmare, but now on PS5 (what PC reaches the power of the Sony console?). But everything has been in vain because Kojima has gotten involved in his own projects and Konami has not wanted to give in.
Be that as it may, that collaboration announced at E3 2014 between Kojima and Guillermo del Toro was left unturned… until today. That some fans have decided to put an end to that nightmare of not being able to enjoy PT Demo in the ecosystem PlayStation and for this they have conceived a work that emulates, pixel by pixel, each of the dark corners of that release. Or at least that’s how it seemed to us after watching the video that has been published recently.
As you can see, the essence of the PT Demo and that map full of apparitions and ghosts that stalk us, no longer in front to scare us, but from behind, breathing us and making enough noise for us to feel their presence. Those gloomy corridors, the apparitions that make your heart skip a beat and, in general, all the elements that made the work of Kojima in 7780s (fictitious studio name) into a masterpiece.
How has PT Demo come to this day?
The secret that this PT Demo has reached us in 2024 has the name dreamsthat game that Sony launched in February 2020 for PS4 and that allows you to develop games (pardon the redundancy) within it. The number of alternatives it offers is such that it is even possible to develop this type of projects with a really interesting quality, pixel by pixel. And proof of this is this demo that launched Kojima in June 2014.
So now you know, you just have to get the game dreams (in PS Plus you have it available) and browse the community’s works until the one signed by Dr.Jones and two more colleagues from Fatigues. Great job!
