A new event has just started on Pokémon GO in connection with the changes to the Mega Evolution system. Special research, Mega Kangaroo, energy… Here’s everything you need to know about this Mega-Moment event and who to choose between Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise.
The big Mega Evolution update for Pokémon GO is now live worldwide. To celebrate all of these changes, An unprecedented event has just started on the mobile game. On the program? A special study and a new Mega-Raid! You will find all the details below to make the most of it.
Pokémon GO Mega Moment: Event Dates and Bonuses
- From Friday, April 29, 2022 at 10 a.m. to Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 8 p.m.
- Mega Kangaroo makes its appearance in Mega Raids,
- A new special study for trainers level 5 and above where you have to choose between Blastoise, Venusaur or mega-evolved Charizard,
- A Raid Day on May 1st dedicated to Mega Kangaroo: spin the Gym Pokéstops to get 5 free Raid Passes,
- Pokémon appear more often in the wild,
- Bonus: Mega-evolved Pokémon get a big CP boost,
- New Field Research Tasks: Obtain Mega Energy for a random Pokémon that can Mega Evolve.
A Mega-Moment: List of Special Research Quests and Choice between Venusaur, Blastoise and Charizard
The special study has been available since April 28th on the game and here are the quests, in 4 steps, that you need to complete to get special rewards. Be careful though, after step 1, you will have to choose between Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise:
A Mega-moment 1/4
- Catch 3 Pokémon – Reward: Bulbasaur encounter
- Catch 3 Pokémon – Reward: Charmander encounter
- Catch 3 Pokémon – Reward: Squirtle encounter
- Final Reward: 500XP, 200 Stardust, and 10 PokéBalls
A Mega-moment 2/4 – Choice of Venusaur, Blastoise or Charizard
Here the quests are all the same, only the final reward changes depending on your choice.
- Catch 5 Pokémon – Reward: 10 Pokéballs
- Use 5 Berries to help you catch a Pokémon – Reward: 10 Super Balls
- Recharge a Pokémon 5 times – Reward: 10 PokéBalls
- Final reward if you chose Venusaur: 200 Mega Venusaur Energy, 1 Premium Battle Pass and Venusaur encounter
- Final reward if you chose Tortank: 200 Mega Tortank Energy, 1 Premium Battle Pass and Tortank encounter
- Final reward if you chose Charizard: 200 Charizard Mega Energy, 1 Premium Battle Pass and Charizard encounter
A Mega-moment 3/4 – Florizarre, Tortank or Charizard
Here the quests are all the same, only the rewards change depending on your choice.
- Earn 5 hearts with your Buddy Pokémon – Reward: 50 Mega Energy from Charizard, Venusaur or Blastoise depending on your initial choice
- Recharge a Pokémon 10 times – Reward: 500 Mega Energy from Charizard, Venusaur or Blastoise depending on your initial choice
- Mega Evolve your Charizard/Blastmaker/Florizarre – Reward: 1 Charged Attack TM
- Final Reward: 1000XP, 600 Stardust and 100 Mega Charizard, Venusaur or Blastoise Energy depending on your initial choice
A 4/4 Mega-moment – Florizarre, Tortank or Charizard
Here the quests are all the same, only the rewards change depending on your choice.
- Win a Raid – Reward: 6 Reminders
- Defeat a Team GO Rocket Minion – Reward: 2 Silver Nanana Berries
- Take a picture of your Buddy Pokémon – Reward: 6 Hyper Potions
- Final Reward: 1000XP, 600 Stardust and 100 Mega Charizard, Venusaur or Blastoise Energy depending on your initial choice
