The proposal is currently in the “temperature check” phase – an initial process that involves gathering feedback from Aave’s governance community before proceeding to the next steps.
After discussion, the proposal will move to a “snapshot” vote. If approved, it becomes an Aave Request for Comments (ARC) proposal, inviting further discussion on asset specifications and implementation details, before finally being submitted as an Aave Enhancement Proposal ( AIP) is official and implemented after thorough testing and auditing, the Aptos Foundation said.
Aave Labs has built the integration code and deployed it on the Aptos testnet, with the Aptos Foundation funding the current testing process.
According to the Aptos Foundation, if this initiative is ultimately approved by the Aave community, it will be the first implementation of Aave on a non-EVM blockchain, helping developers in the programming language-based ecosystem Move by Aptos is accessible.
Move was originally developed at Meta by a team of people from Facebook’s now-defunct Diem project.
