One might wonder about the relevance of the introductory cinematic of Chapter 3 of Black Myth Wukong, with the tragic, but also philosophical, story of two incompatible beings. In retrospect, one wonders why a side quest was given so much attention. In any case, here’s how to discover the rest.
Start the fox quest
The fox’s quest doesn’t start until near the end of the very long chapter 3. Go to theAltar of the Forest of Bliss, in the Valley of Ecstasy. Nearby, you can see a corpse leaning against a wooden gate. It is wearing the fox’s fur as a scarf. The fox will call out to you as you approach. It asks for your help, before automatically transforming you into a fox. Consent was optional at the time.
Reactivate fox transformation
Fox form moves quickly, has no time limit, and is less likely to attract enemy attention. It is great for traveling long distances quickly, but it has one major flaw. Any hit will cancel the transformation. It is nearly impossible to complete this quest directly.
Going back to talk to the fox doesn’t help either. The solution is simple, open theinventorythen go to the important objects tab. Use the Fox’s Brushin order to transform you again.
Where to find the Non-empty monk?
You don’t need to do the whole journey in fox form. Start from theAltar located at the entrance to the Temple of Lightningafter the last captain boss. Check out the video at the top of the article to find out the route to follow.
In summary, you have to reach the section at the top left of the temple. You will find an old monk praying in a hall. Talking to him does not accomplish anything. The solution is to enter the hall, in the form of a fox. After a cutscene, a fight will begin with the boss Non-empty. It’s best to avoid dying, since the area is very far from the altar. Using fox form will help you get back faster.
Complete the quest
After defeating Non-Void, return to the Forest of Bliss Altar in the Valley of Ecstasy. As you approach the corpse that gave you the quest, the fox will learn her own lessons from the story before disappearing. You will also receive a trinket as a reward.
