While it is true that Black Myth: Wukong It takes many elements from soulslike games, but also introduces its own, and one of the most interesting when it comes to optimizing your character are the spirits. There are dozens of thembut today I’m going to recommend the 6 best ones that are available in the first half of the game.
Best Black Myth Spirits: Wukong
Wandering Specter
It is, technically, the first spirit you will have access toalthough if you kill him as soon as you meet him, you won’t even be able to get him right away. Don’t worry, he’ll show up in the shop soon enough, and especially early in the game, he’ll be worth every Willpower point you spend. He does decent damage, stuns even the most powerful enemies, and is available to you early on. The only downside is that his range is very, very tight.
Guangmou
He first chapter has very useful spirits, and Guangmou is living proof of that. Since our protagonist doesn’t have long-range attacks, this spirit can make up for this lack. In addition, its attack causes poison, something excellent that, mixed with Guangzhi’s fire, can give you a more than good source of passive damage.
Daoist Bloody Eyes
To get the Daoist, you’re going to have to wait until chapter 3but trust me, it’s going to be worth it. This spirit creates an area within which your attacks will do more damage. It’s a very different spirit style than the others, but for bosses that don’t move around much, it can make all the difference.
Baw-Li-Gunh-Lang
I realize it doesn’t look like much, but this spirit is a real pain. When you summon it, it can appear any of the elemental frogs of the game. Good range, good damage and a touch of randomness that gives it some more fun. You will find it in chapter 1before facing the Noble in White.
Archer Rat
At the beginning of chapter 2you’ll see arrows rain down on you, and it won’t be long before you find the Archer Rat Spirit. What makes him so good? Well, as I mentioned with Guangmou, giving you a ranged attack can make all the difference, especially against bosses that move around a lot, fly around, or move away frequently.
Acolyte of the Tiger
A absolutely brutal damage mixed with a massive ability to stun bosses. The Tiger Acolyte is one of those spirits that can easily become part of your gameplay routine against Black Myth: Wukong’s most demanding enemies. You’ll get it in Chapter 2, after defeating him on a bridge.
