We’re spoiled this year in terms of Asian Action-RPGs, after Stellar Blade and the Elden Ring DLC, here comes Black Myth Wukong and its intimidating amount of bosses waiting for you. We haven’t made an exhaustive list, but there are easily more than fifty.
Are there multiple difficulty modes?
The answer is “No“. This is one of the common points with Souls-Like and Lies of P for example, Black Myth Wukong will never offer you to select a difficulty mode. It was balanced with this unique mode in mind.
Is Black Myth Wukong hard?
If it’s any comfort, the game will quickly give you a lot of tools, capable of making most of the bosses quite easy to beat. Aside from the first optional boss, who will probably slaughter you a bunch of times, it should only take you a few tries on the toughest bosses before you get the better of them. Of course, this also depends on your level of play.
For those who like to suffer, you may want to limit the arsenal at your disposal, in order to spice up the fights. A good example would be not using transformations. You can also go and try New Game+ mode, after completing the main story.
Accessibility and options
In this area, Black Myth Wukong offers the bare minimum, with the basic options that we have become accustomed to seeing in all games, such as colorblind mode. There are some additional settings to configure automatic targeting as well as the behavior of the camera in combat, which can help. But there is nothing capable of making combat trivial.
