Black Myth: Wukong is a game that has taken many players by surprise with its length, but also with the structure of its campaign itself. The first chapter, which serves only as a tutorial and introduction, is far from being representative of what awaits you later.
Number of chapters of Black Myth Wukong
There is a total of 6 chapters in Black Myth Wukong. Each of them is linked to the recovery of one of Sun Wukong’s relics, which is an opportunity to visit notable places of the Journey to the West, as well as to reconnect with old acquaintances. Let us mention that almost all chapters have a secret area, with additional bosses.
New Game+
There is indeed a New Game Plus mode in Black Myth Wukong. As usual, it becomes accessible after completing the main story, in chapter 6.
That being said, you are also free to continue exploring the game world freely, in order to find anything you may have missed during your adventure. There are an impressive number of secrets.
Length of chapters
Chapter lengths vary greatly in Black Myth Wukong, and will obviously depend on your level and playstyle. If you go straight for the bosses, ignoring everything else, and kill them on the first try, it can go very quickly. Here’s an estimate for each chapter, assuming you’re looking to complete quests and other side activities:
- Chapter 1 : ~2 to 5 hours
- Chapter 2 : ~4 to 8 hours
- Chapter 3 : ~5 to 10 hours
- Chapter 4 : ~4 to 8 hours
- Chapter 5 : ~3 to 6 hours
- Chapter 6 : ~2 to 10+ hours. As you might expect, the endgame includes several extremely difficult bosses. Some are optional.
