It’s clear that the bosses are the soul of Black Myth: Wukong, the action RPG based on Chinese mythology from Game Science. With dozens of them in your adventure, everything has a beginning, and in this case we have to talk about of the Bull Guardan encounter that, without many pretensions, is going to teach you the basics of the game, although it has its considerations. If you are having a hard time, don’t worry! I am coming to give you some advice so you can get over it.
How to defeat the Bull Guard in Black Myth Wukong
Well, to start, I’m going to give you a tip that will be great for the entire game: the basic RB/R1 combo (depending on which controller you play with) is very, very good in this game. If you do it all the way, the last hit can cut off your enemies’ movements and knock them off balance. That said, you have to know when to use it. Let’s review the attacks of the Bull Guard.
- Jump Attack: This is one of the Guard’s easiest attacks to take advantage of. When he jumps towards you and stabs his axe into the ground, you have a wide window of punishment if you manage to dodge it. Don’t get nervous, just stand still when he comes towards you and dodge.
- Double vertical cut: Well, things get complicated. This double slash will give you a false sense of security when the boss hits in a straight line with his weapon, but I recommend waiting for the second attack to punish. Don’t get too confident though, as he has a third jump attack. Once you dodge this last one, you have room to perform a full combo.
- Burden: The Guard’s charge is a bit tricky, and that is that, even if you dodge it easily, you should not punish until he finishes doing it, because he has an extra final hit that can leave you in a bad position. Once he does this, punish.
- Spin Attack: This attack is pretty easy to dodge, but I recommend not trying to do a full combo. Dodge his attacks and get in a few hits in between.
Halfway through the fight, you will receive the immobilization spellwhich will make combat much easier. Once you’ve achieved this, you’ll most likely have no trouble finishing off your enemy. Congratulations, you’ve completed the first major combat of the game!
