The situation has taken a tragic turn in Black Myth Wukong. Despite your victory against the dragon, you regain consciousness in a cell, deep in a titanic pagoda, full of dangers.
How to open cells?
You will quickly notice that many cells are locked. Their door is marked with a purple seal. Opening the cells is not mandatory to exit the area, but it will allow you to obtain treasures, and to progress in a quest
To open them, you must climb up the area, until you reach the second sanctuary, the Altar of the Upper Pagoda. Turn around after finding it, then go down into the hole. You will reach a large room with a particularly annoying boss, one of the captains of the pagoda. Be careful, the punishment can be triggered during the fight, which can lead to a quick death on your part. It may be wiser to kill the second captain, before returning to the area.
Upon his death, all cells will be opened. Unfortunately, this means you will have to retrace your steps, inspecting each cell one by one.
How to handle Punishment?
What makes the area particularly difficult is the chanting that will regularly affect the area. It will halve your maximum health, in addition to stressing you out. Additionally, lantern-headed enemies will also spawn in the area. You can kill them fairly easily by using immobilization and your other abilities.
- There’s not much you can do about it, unfortunately, other than tough it out. You can wait it out by staying in a safe area. Be aware that the green souls floating around the area can restore a charge to your canteen. This helps you keep your healing in reserve, even when healing after each punishment.
- A benefit of Punishment is that your enemies will also have their health halved. This makes them much easier to kill.
- To put a definitive end to the punishment, the only solution is to climb to the top of the pagoda, and kill the boss Captain Wise Voice.
Walkthrough
- You can check out the video at the top of the article to see the path to the exit. It’s quite long, but not overly complex, if you know what to look for.
- Your goal on each floor is the same: find a stone staircase to climb. It is always located in the interior corridor, but its orientation may be different, from one floor to another.
- There are two altars to reach along the way, the Lower Pagoda Shrine and the Upper Pagoda Shrine.
- Once you reach the Upper Pagoda, you only have one more floor to climb. Follow the outer corridor, until you reach the beams leading to the outside of the pagoda, with the Prayer Wheel Shrine.
