Almost every game that involves crafting requires you to go harvest silk sooner or later, and Black Myth Wukong is no exception. You’ll need it when facing the first really difficult boss in the story. But as we’ll see, the options are limited at this point in the game.
How to get silk?
Unfortunately, at the risk of disappointing you, it is almost can’t find silk in first chapter of game. You are going to get some from chests, as well as from non-respawning enemies. This should be enough for one piece of armor, but not more. We’ve been killing all the remaining enemies over and over, and they only drop thread, not silk. It’s not completely impossible that they could drop some, but that would mean the odds of that happening are extremely low. Wasting hours killing basic enemies will almost certainly give you more sparks than silk.
In concrete terms, this means that it is impossible to harvest large quantities of them before Chapter 2. Once you are there, many enemies will give you some, such as all types of rats and other humanoid animals. You will normally have large quantities of them quickly. Rats with a large shield are particularly profitable.
In short, you can’t craft the entire Bronze Monkey armor set during the first chapter. You’ll have to settle for the lesser armors. Remember to ring the bells and fight the secret boss, it can help you. Also check out our starter build. Ironically, don’t immediately set the boss on fire, using your transformation towards the end of the fight.
