Furnace Golems are iconic foes from the Elden Ring SOTE DLC, and you’ll sometimes need to use special consumables to defeat them. In this guide, discover all the info on this crafting ingredient required by one of the best recipes in the game.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree likes to hand you items without clearly explaining how to use them. The reverse is also true, with recipes listing items, but never telling you where to find them. Here are all the answers regarding the Face of the Furnace.
What is the Face of the Furnace used for?
This item has only one known use, it is one of the materials required in the recipe for the Great Furnace Pot. This Great Furnace Pot is a consumable that you will need to obtain the Blood-Drinking Cracked Tear and access the Ruins of Unte. This type of pot is also a great way to kill Furnace Golems whose legs are protected against conventional attacks.
Where to find Faces of the Furnace?
This is unfortunately a rare item, available in extremely limited quantities. Don’t expect to throw Large Furnace Pots at everything that moves. All Furnace Golems will give you one when they die, but it doesn’t necessarily get you much further. They are marked in red on the map below.

- You can pick up 4 of them to the right of the Black Castle entrance, in a long-destroyed Furnace Golem carcass.
