The Elden Ring SotE DLC introduces new spells, and the most OP of the moment is Impenetrable Thorns, it allows to make the bosses bleed in a loop. This attack is similar to that of the Avatar of the Occult Tree. Discover its location and how to reach it in this guide accompanied by a map.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree introduces 14 new Sorceries, and most of them are really disappointing. However, some are powerful, even too powerful, like the Impenetrable Thorns, at the time of writing (June 26, 2024). They are so powerful that we should expect a nerf from FromSoftware in the coming days or weeks. If you want to exploit their full potential, you will have to hurry.
How to get the Impenetrable Thorns spell?
The first step is to reach the sixth floor of the Seed Warehouse from the Black Castle. Start from the Grace site where it is possible to find Freyja. You must also have activated the lever used to rotate the beams and statues in the center of the area.
Go down one floor, then climb the beam. Climb the statues, then jump onto the balcony. You will reach a door leading to the outside of the tower. Lean over the edge of the void, you will see a bat on a border, one floor below. Go down, the Impenetrable Thorns spell is on a corpse nearby.
Effects and prerequisites of the witchcraft Impenetrable Thorns
This spell can be said to be strange, since it does not require Intelligence, but 24 Faith to be used. But it is not an Incantation. It triggers an effect similar to the ranged attack of the boss Avatar of the Occult Tree, with 3 brambles that cause bleeding. Its effect is much more notable in melee, since the brambles will all hit the same target. With the right build, this allows you to trigger bleeding instantly. You will need to invest in Esotericism as well, in order to strengthen the bleeding effect.
