Many Elden Ring players love Katanas, and Shadow of the Erdtree introduces a new category for these fearsome weapons, with several options available like the Dragonslayer’s Great Katana, and the Great Rakshasa Katana. This will help you defeat the bosses in the game.
Where to find the great katana of Rakshasa?
This weapon is obtained by killing the boss Rakshasa in the Unnamed Eastern MausoleumAt Southeast of Altus Occulte. The problem is that reaching the location is extremely difficult. You can’t just point it on the map and ride straight to it. It’s at the bottom of a rocky gorge that you can only reach by taking a long, very specific route.
- You should start by collecting the Map Fragments, in order to see a little more clearly. This katana is located near the path leading to the very last fragment, which is also the most difficult to obtain. Here is a map of the route to follow in order to reach the place.
- Starting from the first Miquella Cross of Altus Occulte, follow the road north, in order to reach the Black Castle.
- Enter by taking the elevator, then kill the Golden Hippo boss. Climb the stairs until you reach the second elevator in the castle, which leads to the Seed Tank. Don’t take it, stay in the area!
- Instead, take the ladder to the right of the areato go down to the water’s edge.
- Enter the tunnel on the left, to explore a new section in which there is a Red Painting. Look for a secret passage on the right wall, this will reveal a Stone Coffin that you will have to climb into, you know the rest: climb aboard.
- You will spawn at the back of the Black Castle’s outer area, with a Furnace Golem nearby.
- Follow the river south from the top of the cliffs, you will see a sort of chapel full of flymen on the other bank. Jump over the holes with Torrent, to reach a series of rocks that will allow you to descend to the river level without killing yourself.
- This will take you to the Unnamed Eastern Mausoleum at the top of the waterfall.
Once in the Mausoleum, you will have to defeat the boss Rakshasa, who is not particularly difficult. Beware of his damage, after all, he has the weapon you dream of.
He will leave you both the great katana bearing his name, but also his set of armor.
Why is the Great Rakshasa Katana interesting?
If you have a build with very high dexterity, this katana will work wonders on bosses. In addition to the elements that make katanas charming, such as their length, attack speed and bleeding, the unique ability of Reaping is really powerful. It allows you to chain large devastating horizontal blows at high speed. As a bonus, this katana allows you to take more hits without being interrupted, while obtaining a damage bonus. In short, it is a very simple and extremely brutal method to kill enemies by having more DPS than them.
With heavy armor, some defensive bonuses, and the new Crystal Tear for the Vial of Salvation, which grants infinite stamina for a few seconds, and the result is just absurd.
