You’re probably familiar with the puzzles in the Elden Ring boards. They’re back in Shadow of the Erdtree, with 3 new puzzles that are generally much more difficult to solve.
It is strongly recommended to collect the Map Fragments of the areas concerned, in order to be able to orient yourself more easily.
The sacred tower
Ironically, the first board you’ll discover is linked to the most difficult puzzle to solve. Don’t expect to be able to reach the location indicated in the walkthrough right away.
The painting itself is located in a small cave, east of the Grave Plain starting area. Follow the cliff to the north to find it.
The first step is to reach the region of Occult Altus, in the northeast, by defeating Rellana or by taking a Sealed Spring, further south. Then, fight your way to the lower section of the Ruins of Rauh, the region in the northwest of the continent.
You then need to unlock another Sealed Source in the area, in order to reach the top of the rocky plateau, on which the position to reach is located.
This involves destroying the small pile of rocks nearby, climb to the right to reach it.
After taking the Spirit Spring, use the second spring to reach the top. All you have to do is follow the edge of the cliff to make the artist appear. The reward is the Seal of the Spiral Tree.
Incursion
The second painting is also in the Burial Plain, but it is much harder to find, since it is located at the southern tip of the Rocky Plateau to the west of the area. To reach the area, go left after the first Miquella Cross to the north of the area, passing under the stone arch. You will find a path along the cliffside, with enemies.
In return, the solution to this treasure hunt is easy to find. Just go to the Northeast of the Burial Plain, in order to observe the entrance to the Belurat dungeon. The reward is a serpentine shield.
Draconic Domain
This last painting is quite difficult to find. Enter the Black Castle through the main entrance, defeat the Golden Hippo, then climb up to the Elevator leading to the Seed Tank. Instead of using it, take the ladder nearby, to go down to the bottom of the ramparts, at the water’s edge.
Go through the tunnel to reach a room with said painting. Please note that there is also a secret passage on the right wall, although it has nothing to do with it. This is an important point to reach the abyss.
The area represented by the painting is located in the southeast of the continent. You must return to the Sepulchral Plain, and go through the dungeon of the Dragon Pitin order to reach Broken Peak. Begin your climb using a series of Spirit Springs until you reach the Fading Grace site on Broken Peak Side.
Take the next Spirit Spring, then look for platforms below to descend onto. You will eventually see the Artist’s Chair appear, and the storm will calm down to reveal a dark and haunting landscape.
The item left on the ground is the Heart of Stone, a consumable with unlimited use, reinforcing draconic incantations.
