Where to find the Falx?

The Falx is the weapon used by the Kerastian, one of Leda’s companions. As you might expect, he won’t give it to you willingly, and you’ll have to rip it off his corpse. You can’t just attack him near a Miquella’s Cross either; you have to kill him as part of a quest or a scripted encounter. Fortunately, there are plenty of opportunities to kill the Kerastian. The first is in the Black Castle, after Miquella’s enchantment has worn off. Go and talk to Leda several times in Altus Occulte, so that she decides to eliminate the Kerastian.

Two marks will appear on the ground, at the top of the slope that follows the Golden Hippopotamus room, in the Black Castle. You can choose to protect the Kerastian, or invade and attack him. This second option is by far the best, if you want to get Falx quickly. But if you missed it, or you don’t like this solution, you have two other opportunities.

If you kill Messmer while summoning the Kerastian during the fight, his vengeance is now complete, and you become his next target. He will then invade you as you approach the Fading Grace site of the Ancient Ruins of Rauh.

Finally, if you didn’t kill the Kerastian with Leda, and he wasn’t able to take his revenge on Messmer, he’ll be waiting for you a little before the final boss. During the fight with Leda and her allies, the Kerastian is the second enemy summoned. After finishing off all the invaders, you’ll be able to pick up the Kerastian’s equipment, which includes his armor and Falx.

The Falx has moderate requirements, at 12 Strength and 15 Dexterity. It is enhanced with Darkforge Stones, and once at +10, its affinities are D for Strength, and B for Dexterity. It also has a bleed effect of 55. You cannot infuse this weapon, but it can be enchanted with spells and consumables.

What makes this weapon particularly interesting is its unique ability, the Vengeful Blade. Kerastian uses it against you during his fight, which helps you visualize how annoying it is. It’s probably one of the longest range skills in the game, since you’ll sprint forward with the blades, which will hit and damage the target, then you’ll perform a large double strike. The range is immense when charging the skill, and the damage too. When combined with Alexander’s Shard, the results are excellent.
