As you’ll quickly discover, Zelda Tears of the Kingdom reuses a lot of elements from Zelda Breath of the Wild, but it also has a lot of surprises in store for you. One of the first ones you’ll encounter in the world is a sort of recurring escort quest, based on the new gameplay mechanics.
Finding the Korogu’s friend: What should you do?
If, after talking to the Korogu, who told you about his involuntary separation from his friend, you crossed the area to find him, but it didn’t give anything, it’s normal. You will have to transport the lost Korogu yourself, which requires using the new power of the Grip, manipulation, in order to build a vehicle with the materials available nearby. The important subtlety is that the Korogu is considered to be part of these manipulable materials.
So you can literally stick it to your vehicle, in order to easily transport it to the other side, to help it reach its friend. You will simply have to remember to unstick it using your hand, and by shaking the right joystick, before bringing it to its buddy. The position of its friend is indicated by a small green smoke trail.
The first time you come across this puzzle, you just have to make a zip line with a hook and some logs, then hang it all on the metal cable that crosses the chasm. But you should know that this is a recurring puzzle. You will have to create increasingly complex vehicles, or you will have to manage traps and enemies, in order to cross.
If the Korok ever falls into the void, don’t panic, it will reappear at its starting position. As some slightly sadistic players have discovered, the Korok is invincible, and it is possible to torture it in the worst possible ways, whether by attaching it to the wheels, or to a fire-breathing extremity on a giant robot, for example.
Reward
Your efforts will earn you 2 Korogu Nuts, which makes sense. We’re not going to say that it’s exceptionally profitable, but this puzzle isn’t very difficult, once you know what to do. In addition, this puzzle is usually present on the path you have to travel to reach a local point of interest.
