German lawmaker and Bitcoin activist Joana Cotar has called on the government to stop selling Bitcoin “rush” and instead apply it as a “strategic reserve currency” to protect against traditional systemic risks.
On July 4, Cotar wrote to members of the German government, stressing that Bitcoin could help Germany diversify its treasury assets, combat inflation and currency devaluation, and promote domestic innovation. She also invited four German politicians to the “Bitcoin Strategy for Nations” event in October. Cotar said that dumping Bitcoin is “irrational” and “counterproductive” for the country.
