Gondon Zelda Tears of the Kingdom: Here’s the reason to give them nox gems!

Aside from glowing with a beautiful blue light at night and swallowing your Nox Gems, Gondons don’t seem to do anything else, and they can’t even be used as mounts. However, you’ll find that these rare creatures from Zelda Tears of the Kingdom could make you rich!

What are gondolas?

These extremely rare creatures were apparently found by Lady Zelda herself. You will learn much more about them during the quest “The Princess Riding a Beast”, one of Penn’s 12 Rumors. In the region of Fironenot far from the Relais du Lac, you can then speak to Shimina to understand that there are currently only 5 specimens in the world! The five are currently in their enclosure in Firone. Obviously very gentle and affectionate, you have to approach them with respect.

The formidable utility of gondolas

Still speaking to Shimina, if you try to take one of the gems on the table, she will explain that a Gondon once ate the Nox Gem she had dropped behind her. Shortly after, the Gondon left a “jewel” behind. Many players then rushed to try to feed the Gondons with Nox Gems, waiting for the creatures to relieve themselves so they could pick up a rough diamond or two, but… nothing happened. Here’s what to do:

  1. Give exactly 5 Nox Gems to the same Gondon in the enclosure (by taking the gem out of inventory and placing it in front of him),
  2. Once he has eaten all 5 gems, move away from the area by teleporting elsewhere,
  3. Wait at least 10 minutes (real time),
  4. Then come back into the enclosure and you will see your loot on the ground: it could be an amber, a ruby, a sapphire or even a diamond if you are luckier.
