Half-Life: Something huge is coming to the legendary franchise

Half-Life, Valve’s legendary FPS franchise, is reportedly preparing something huge for a highly anticipated return by many gamers.

Last month, new rumors suggested that the Half-Life 3 myth could finally become a reality. These are gaining more weight as Tyler McVicker, a specialist in all things Valve, leads his little investigation into the bowels of Black Mesa. Gabe Newell’s mad scientists are reportedly working on experiments that could promise something big for Gordon Freeman and Alyx Vance.

Half-Life more alive than ever?

Four years after the absolute VR masterpiece that is Half-Life Alyx, which has visibly galvanized teams like never before around the legendary license, everything suggests that Valve will soon offer something new for this legend of the FPS genre, on more conventional platforms. In any case, this is what Tyler McVicker suggests after a methodical investigation of the activities of the company that oversees Steam. According to him, something is brewing in the laboratories of Black Mesa, with not one, but two games stamped Half-Life, in addition to the famous MOBA/hero shooter Deadlock.

To prove his point, the YouTuber says he has discovered a bundle of clues to this effect in various lines of code or in reports from other people close to Valve. One of the upcoming games should therefore be an “old-school” opus, and perhaps the much-prophesized Half-Life 3. The other could be a rather ambitious project: an asymmetrical game, with on one side a PC version where we control dear Gordon, and on the other a VR game where we control Alyx. This would inaugurate the VR headset that Valve continues to work on, codenamed Deckard.

The cherry on the cake (which is a lie, everyone knows that), Tyler McVicker announces that Valve would be preparing a very special announcement for the 20th anniversary (yes, already) of Half-Life 2, released exactly on November 16, 2004. In any case, this would be an ideal date to delight fans of this FPS monument. The YouTuber promises to add other elements to his investigation between now and then to help us wait. Our attention as Half-Life fans is definitely piqued in any case, hoping that all this will be officially verified soon.
