If, like virtually all fans of action and soulslike games, you can’t stop playing Black Myth: Wukongyou’ve probably noticed by now that their bosses don’t mess around. In the first area of the game, one of the most curious enemies you face is Guangmou, who is closely related to Guangzhi and Elder Jinchi. If you’re stuck in that fight, here are a few tips to help you succeed and move on.
How to beat Guangmou in Black Myth: Wukong
Guangmou is a perfect example of the soul of the game: the less aggressive you are, the more likely you are to stumble and things end badly for you. His nemesis is Guangzhi, so here’s your first tip: become Guangzhi using the power you gain from defeating him. strong charged attack shreds Guangmou, putting you close to him. This is a great way to get a lot of his HP down early in the fight. With that in mind, let’s go over his moves and punishing windows:
- Poisonous rain: Guangmou fires several poison projectiles at you. If several of them hit you, you will start losing health.
- Poisonous breath: He will launch a cone of poison gas in front of himself. If you position yourself next to him, you can punish this attack extensively.
- Push: The boss is surrounded by black clouds and pushes you back. It does little damage, so the punishment window is not very wide.
- Reinforcement: Guangmou summons enemies to fire poison projectiles at you. I recommend ignoring the boss and dispatching them as soon as possible.
- Orb: A homing orb that deals a lot of damage and causes poison. Very easy to dodge (although don’t be overconfident), but I don’t recommend trying to punish. Better to take it from afar.
- Poisonous Knives: Guangmou jumps back and throws out several poison projectiles. Again, easy to dodge, but not punishable.
- Teleportation: The boss can appear or disappear at will. Technically it is not an attack.
As you can see, the unique thing about this opponent is that he doesn’t have many windows to punish. Luckily, he’s not very aggressive either, which gives you, the player, the green light to be. If you’re having trouble with Guangmou, it’s because you’re giving him too much room to breathe, instead of overwhelming him. When you defeat him, you’ll be able to get him as a spirit and access one of the bells to unlock the fight against Jinchi.
