Well, the first thing you need to keep in mind is that this may be your second or third boss. If you let the spell that turns you into a bug wear off before fighting Guangzhi, you’ll be able to face the Specter sooner. This is something I don’t recommend, and it is that Red Tidesthe ability that allows you to become Guangzhiwill help you a lot in this fight. Before starting with the strategies, I am going to recommend a way to start the fight.
When you reach the Wandering Specter, if he has his back to you, go straight to him and do a R1/RB combo whole. As soon as you finish the last hit, use your immobilization spell and repeat the strategy. With this, the spectre will fall to the ground, where you must use a combo with concentration strike to finish the strategy. If you have done everything right, you will have eliminated one third from his life bar before giving him time to breathe.
- Stomp: The Spectre uses stomps to control the space around him. These can be followed by another stomp, a spin attack, a ranged attack, or even a succession of all of these. Think carefully about what the next strike will be. If you dodge the ranged attack, you will have a wide window of punishment.
- Headbutt against the ground: An attack that is easy to predict and dodge, but absolutely devastating. When you see him raise his head, I recommend being careful with your attacks. Once dodged, he is easy to punish.
- Jump attack: When the Spectre leaps at you, you don’t just have to worry about the hit, but the damage it does around it. It can drain your life bar before you know it, but luckily once it’s dodged it leaves you plenty of room to deal out punishment.
- Vital wave: He can do this as part of a combo or from afar. When you see the Spectre crouch or duck a little, get ready for his most devastating attack. It’s not hard to dodge, but he does play tricks on you. timingYou can try punishing afterwards, but depending on how far away you are, it might not be worth it.
As I said, Red tides are a great ally. Becoming Guangzhi allows you to set the Spectre on fire, and its ultimate attack will do massive amounts of damage. Also, its strong ranged attack will cover a large part of the arena to do good damage. You can use it immediately after the start strategy from combat, and you will probably end up taking away more than half of his total health.
