Pokémon GO is probably the game in which having a Pokémon in its chromatic form is the easiest in terms of technique, but it’s always nice to learn about the arrival of a new shiny! Today, we focus on the famous Mew and its blue form.
How to get shiny Mew on Pokémon GO?
Whether it’s a Legendary, a Fabulous or other creatures from the license, their shiny forms are prized and we’re not going to lie to each other but all methods are good to have a shiny as long as they are legitimate. Whether it’s a shiny obtained in a game from the main series via a reset, an egg or an encounter or obtaining the latter in a special study or in a raid on Pokémon GO, the shiny remains the same.
Only the value you give it due to your hunting or your time spent having it can make it important or not in your eyes and this is the case for certain very rare monsters or long to have under their alternative color.
For example, this is the case for most of the fabulous ones like Celebi which was only resettable on the Crystal version before experiencing a distribution in Japan as well as a special study in Pokémon GO.
Now, let’s go back to the first generation and the famous Pokémon of the truck, we are talking about the mythical Pokémon Mew. This one has already had distributions to have its chromatic form but this time, in the Niantic game, it is possible for some players to acquire it through a special study during the Pokémon GO Kanto Circuit.
Unlock Masterful Study and Get Shiny Mew
To unlock it, you had to have a ticket available for the Kanto Circuit paid event. Once you had obtained it, you still had to complete the first study which granted you Shiny Ditto to then unlock the final study of the coveted Mew. Be careful because the latter will not be easy to obtain or at least, you will have to be patient because the missions necessary to succeed in the study phases are quite long as shown in the tables below.

By successfully completing it, you will obtain:
- 5100 XP
- A Premium Raid Pass
- 1510 stardust

Note that if you have recovered the special study, you unlock it until you have finished it so take your time if you want, Mew will not escape. The quest to have the Pokémon bearing the number 151 will be long and winding, good luck!
The initiative remains nice to allow those who want to have some shiny that are really rare as is the case for the fabulous ones. Maybe after Celebi and Mew, we will have the right to see Jirachi in his chromatic form during an event in which he will be in the spotlight but only time will tell.
