While Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers more enjoyable exploration than ever across three levels, even allowing Link to hurtle through the void from dizzying heights, one item in particular may be missing pretty quickly. Don’t worry, here’s how to find your paraglider!
When do we get the Parasail?
After a few minutes of introduction, Link wakes up, once again, in the middle of a cave. without any equipment. His poor sword is completely rusty and you will quickly see that he can no longer use his iconic paraglider. After all, in Breath of the Wild too, you had to wait several minutes of play before unlocking it. But this time, you will sometimes find yourself in situations requiring the paraglider and you will wonder when you will finally find it again.
The question will arise again when, after completing the fourth sanctuary of the Celestial Island of the prelude, you will be told to use a glider to reach the temple. Rest assured, this horrible mechanical bird will not replace your precious piece of fabric!
Once you have reached the Temple and the cutscene with Zelda has passed, you will have to jump into the void to reach the Surface of Hyrule and reach the Fort Guet. This is an outpost where searches are being carried out to find the missing princess. There you can talk with Pru’Ha who will tell you to go “under the castle” to reach Hox. Simply head straight to the old castle entrance and use your Hold power to open the large doors. Continue up the stone path until you find Hox and then return to Fort Watch.
This is when Pru’ha will tell you about the observation towers that you need to unlock to map the Hyrule map. By heading to the Fort tower, she will then give you your Parasail. By activating the tower, you can fly very high and thus have a clear visual of what is around you to get there easily. Note that it is possible to use the towers’ trampoline at any time.
Customize your paraglider
One of the new features of TotK is the ability to customize your paraglider a bit like the paragliders in Mario Kart 8! There are tons of different patterns and you have to go to the village ofElithin the Necluda region in the east of the map, to unlock this feature. You can find unique fabrics by summoning Amiibos for example, by taking pictures of certain animals or by completing side quests.
This is of course only cosmetic and will not give you any particular advantage or effect. Apart from the paraglider and the glider, there are other techniques to fly in the skies of Hyrule thanks to the Amalgam which allows you to make vehicles like hot air balloons for example.
