Intel’s Battlemage graphics could hit the market sooner than expected

Just below is amdwith the remaining 15% while Intel, a newcomer to the dedicated graphics card segment, has a residual presence in these statistics. However, that does not mean that I have thrown in the towel and Intel Arc which launched in 2022 is the only graphics card it launches on the market.

Even more so considering that AMD has withdrawn from the gaming segment. high end graphics as announced last August. News related to the second generation of Intel graphics always comes from official sources since they are implemented in the Intel Core Ultra Series 2 for laptops.

However, we still do not know when it plans to launch them on the market for desktop computers. The latest news related to the launch of these suggests that it will be before the end of this year, or at least that is what the renowned leaker Golden Pig claims.

It seems that Intel wants to present its commitment to dedicated graphics for PC before NVIDIA does so with the RTX 5080 and the RTX 5090graphics that, if we pay attention to the leaks, will mean an important renewal in terms of performance when implementing memory GDDR7.

Although AMD stated that it was temporarily abandoning the high-performance graphics market to focus on server GPUs, that does not mean that it will not launch the series RX8000. AMD plans to announce its next generation of graphics in the first quarter of 2025, so it is more than likely that it will take advantage, like NVIDIA, of CES 2025 being held in Las Vegas.

Intel Arc Graphics Range

Intel announced the first dedicated graphics in the second quarter of 2022 with the Intel Arc A380 with 6 GB of video memory and 8 Xe cores. In the third quarter of that same year, the number of models increased with the A770 in versions with 8 and 16 GB of memory with 32 Xe cores (the most powerful model of all), the A750 and the A310. At the end of 2023, it presented the Intel Arc A580graphics with 8 GB of video memory and 24 Xe cores.

The poor performance offered by the Intel Arc A380 and the rest of the models that came later seriously affected sales. However, Intel has worked a lot on improve your performance through numerous driver updates, however, these arrived too late to the market.

Let’s hope that the new generation of Intel Battlemage graphics reaches the market already mature, that is, with the performance it should offer from day one, although seeing the direction the company has taken in recent years, the possibilities that the company launch a graphics card on the market with high features are very few.
