Black Myth Wukong doesn’t hold your hand with its quests, you’ll have to search, experiment, or go read an online guide to solve them. In the case of Loong’s scales, it would be a shame to miss out, since it’s one of the most interesting and profitable quests in the game. But it’s also a very difficult quest, you’ve been warned.
Where to find Loong scales?
The first step is to beat the boss Chapter 2 Rat Duo: The Second Prince of the Rippling Sand and His Father. The father will then flee into a nearby cave. By following him, you will be treated to a cutscene during which he invokes the first prince of the undulating sandbefore being devoured.
Kill the first prince. You can try to use his charges to destroy the wall on the right of the area with one of his charges, the one with the Buddha silhouettes. If you can’t do it, or this boss is already dead, just use a power ofSpirit like the Wandering Ghostor Azure Dust Transformation, to destroy the wall. Check out the video at the top of the article, to see where exactly to go. You need to start from the Altar in the Valley of Despair.
Once you have Loong’s Scales, you can go hunt down the 4 bosses of this quest. Plan on having consumables to cure the condition of Shock.
Chapter 1: Red Loong
Return to the first forest of Chapter 1, the one you explored in Cicada form. Your destination is the Wolf Forest, at the altar of Outside the Forest. Approach the large waterfall on the left of the area, a voice will echo in the area as you approach. You can then interact with it, which will open a passage to the boss. Red Loong is not very strong, and you will get a large amount of loot upon his death.
Chapter 2: Black Loong
Return of the second chapter for the second boss. This time, go to the Cliff of Dread, and more precisely, to the Altar of Rochetranquille Plateau. Go to the right of the area, to find a sand waterfallblocking access to a temple.
By approaching him with the scales, you will hear words, and you will be able to open a passage to the boss: Black Loong. He is much more difficult than his little brother, and he will beat the rhythm on the ground. You will have to jump or dodge in rhythm to avoid the explosions. You can also paralyze him to interrupt him.
Chapter 3: Loong Cyan
The next dragon awaits you at Bitter Lake, on Turtle Island. Explore the back of the turtle, not far from your arrival point. Loong Cyan looks like a fishing statue by default, but he will return to his original form as you approach. A tough fight awaits you, once again.
Chapter 4: Yellow Loong
The fourth and final brother is located in the Web Cave. Start from the Cliff of Oblivionthen face the Right hand of Buddhaa very strange insectoid boss. After defeating him, cross the large suspension bridge on the left of the area. You will then have to cross a second suspension bridge, very narrow and surrounded by aggressive cocoons.
Be careful, the slightest misstep will make you fall into the void, which will result in immediate death. It is advisable to use the invisibility spellin order to pass without alerting the cocoons.
Once on the other side, look for the altar of the Fallen Loong Relief. You will hear words again. As you approach the gazebo, the fight will begin with Yellow Loong. It seems that you have to have defeated the other 3 bosses for him to be present. Be aware that he is much more difficult than the other bosses. He is probably the most difficult boss encountered so far. The only comparable boss is the Yin Tiger.
Awards
In addition to many Trinkets, you will obtain a Loong Pearl from each boss, as well as crafting materials. By defeating Yellow Loong, you will obtain a Kun Steel, and the Golden Coata very powerful new transformation.
