In this guide, you will discover how to get Meltan in Pokémon GO via the game Let’s GO Pikachu and Evoli but also the Pokémon HOME application in 2024. Available in a chromatic version, here is what its shiny form looks like.

It was in 2019 that the mysterious Meltan was added to Pokémon GO. After several teasers from Professor Willow, it was then possible to obtain it only by transferring a monster from the Pokémon Let’s GO Pikachu and Eevee games released on Nintendo Switch in 2018. Fortunately, it is now possible to obtain it more easily. Here’s how to do it.

How to get Meltan on Pokémon GO?

Meltan can be obtained either through the Let’s GO Pikachu/Evoli games or through the Pokémon HOME app (the easiest):

  1. Exchange a Pokémon GO monster to the game on Nintendo Switch or the Pokémon Home app to get the mystery box.
  2. Once the trade is done, you will be able to open the box in your inventory and Meltan will appear on Pokémon GO. You will be able to catch him in a limited time (30 minutes)
  3. Once the time is up, the box will close and you will need to trade a Pokémon again on Let’s GO or HOME to reopen it.

Shiny Meltan: What does it look like?

Meltan is occasionally available in a chromatic version during events. To do this, you must make the most of the mystery boxes and the time allowed in order to hope to come across a shiny. Note that the Anniversary event from June 28, 2024 until mid-July allows you to obtain shiny Meltan. The time limit to re-open mystery boxes is also reduced!
