Minisforum’s new 3-in-1 convertible is for all budgets

These devices are more expensive than laptops since they incorporate a touch panel. Yes, to that we add that most models use the latest generation processors, purchasing a convertible computer means making a significant financial investment that is not affordable for everyone.

Fortunately, not all manufacturers follow the same path of offering the latest technology inside their convertibles. A clear example is found in the new 3-in-1 convertible presented by the veteran mini PC manufacturer Minisforum.

A cheaper alternative to the Surface

Minisforum has just presented the convertible 3 in V3 SE. This model shares the same design as the V3 that was presented months ago with a 14-inch screen.

Where we do see very important changes is inside, since a AMD processor older, which obviously affects the final price.

The processor that Minisforum has used in the V3 SE is an AMD Ryzen 7 7735U accompanied by 16 GB LPDDR5-6400 RAM, which is half the memory that its predecessor has. Minisforum V3 is managed by the AMD Ryzen 7 8840U along with 32 GB of LPDDR5-6400 RAM.

Using a processor from the previous generation is also associated with using the integrated graphics Radeon 680M of the 7735U instead of the Radeon 780M of the 8840U. Both have 8 cores and 16 threads which, for many, is the most important.

Another significant change also aimed at reducing its final price is found on the screen. This new model has a 14-inch panel with resolution 1920×108060 Hz refresh rate and up to 320 bits of brightness. The V3 has a screen with resolution 2560×1600 14 inches, a refresh rate of 165 Hz and a maximum brightness of 500 nits.

Regarding storage options, This V3 SE includes a slot so that the user can purchase the storage space they really need in M2 format. 2280.

Regarding connectivity options, both the V3 and V3 SE have support for Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.32 USB4 ports, a USB-C VLink connector, a card reader and a headphone jack.

Price and availability

The idea of Minisforum with the V3 SES convertible is a device designed to always be carried with you and to be able to work anywhere, mainly on office tasks, making it an excellent device for studying and for carrying out light tasks where the most important thing is duration. of the battery without sacrificing power.

This new convertible has just been presented in China and in exchange it has a price close to 600 euros, a more than interesting proposal considering everything it offers for that price. For less than 50 euros, if our storage needs are not very high, we can buy a 512 GB N.2 SSD to add to the equipment.
