In the universe of No Man’s Sky, You will find dozens and dozens of materials with various uses, but some of the most important and coveted objects are, without a doubt, storm crystals. If you want to know the best way to obtain them, or why they are so important, you are in the right place.
What are storm crystals for in No Man’s Sky?
Like many other resources in No Man’s Sky, storm crystals are crucial for crafting. Combined with other elements, they can be used to create very useful items, such as:
- Antimatter reactor
- Environmental Control Unit
- Icarus Fuel System
- Curvature Hypernucleus
The last of these items in particular can be extremely useful, as it allows you to power your ship’s Hyperdrive, while also offering a significantly higher fuel regeneration if we compare it to a Curvature Cell.
Where to get storm crystals in No Man’s Sky
Now, storm crystals are as useful as they are elusive, and they are not exactly abundant on all planets in the game. To find them, you will have to look for stars with very specific characteristics:
- The planets must have extreme climates.
- They must also have an atmosphere, because they must have storms.
- They need to have activated metals.
Once you find a planet that meets all of these, you can look for cracked stone structures with a faint blue glow. These are the crystals, but you won’t be able to get them until there’s a storm. Wait for it to activate and you’ll be able to get the crystals.
