Once Human Charcoal: Where to find this material and what is it used for?

With the deployment of Once Human, players are now looking for goals that are often very personal, and this is probably your case too. To achieve this, however, you will probably need many crafting materials including Coal, and we explain in this detailed guide how to achieve this and especially why!

Where to find Coal in Once Human?

Serving as the very first harvestable material upon your post-prologue arrival in Once Human, the Coal can be found almost everywhere and in abundance, but not in its final form. Regardless, no matter where you spawn in the first region, Dayton, you should be able to get your hands on it relatively easily.

Charcoal is naturally created from wood, so you’ll need to get your hands on some Rudimentary pickaxe then cut down some trees to get Archives, which are the wood in Once Human. If you have completed the prologue you should already have a Pickaxe rudimentaryso all you have to do is cut down trees to obtain large quantities of Archives.

While you farm, collect enough to create a Furnaceyou will need it later. The components are quite easily obtainable here again:

  • 20x Copper ore
  • 30x Gravel

Then return to your base and craft a Furnace before placing it wherever you want. Then interact with this new element once placed in your base to gain access to one of the most useful bosses in the game: that of the Coal ! For each piece of Coal you will need the following:

Place as many Archives as you want in your Furnace (5 maximum at a time, the Electric stove will allow you to be less archaic in the making of this material later) then wait to finally collect them all. The Coal is created in just one second, so you only have a short wait before you get this material, making it a very, very easily obtainable resource!

What is Coal used for in Once Human?

THE Coal is a crucial component to your progression in Once Human since it is what serves as the main secondary material for crafting a whole bunch of items, including smelting the Copperof Bronzeof theTin or of theSteelbut also cooking food, purifying water, and many, many other things that you will need no matter what.

As mentioned previously, the making of the Coal can quickly seem quite boring and archaic, so you should consider acquiring one fairly early on in the game Electric stove to facilitate its mass production. However, you will have to progress a little in the game’s history to be able to access it since some of the materials required for its creation are only really obtainable from the second chapter, or quite late in the first:

  • 35x Steel ingot (combine Iron Ores and Coal in the Furnace)
  • 15x Copper ingot (combine Copper Ores and Coal in the Furnace)
  • 5x Electronic components (obtained from dismantling trash or exploring the world)
  • 10x Standard parts (obtained from scrapping or exploring the world)
