Very big news at the end of 2019 for Pokémon GO! It is now possible to have fun with your Pokémon Buddy: quests to complete, caresses increasing the level of happiness and above all… the possibility of taking it everywhere with you!
Did you miss being able to be followed by your favorite Pokémon in the games of the license? Niantic has understood this well and offers you a whole new system in Pokémon GO ! Since December 18, it is possible to select a creature to accompany you anywhere. To put it simply: you not only see your character on the game map, but also your Buddy Pokémon following you.

This new feature is called Buddy Adventure and can be found in the Menu of the Pokemon Buddy (on your Profile).
What to do with Adventure with friends?
- Your Pokémon Buddy follows you around the game map
- Interact with the Pokémon Buddy in Augmented Reality to play with it or feed it. This allows you to obtain new benefits.
- By completing related quests, you will be able to increase his happiness level.
How does it work?
- After selecting a Pokémon Buddy on your Profile (bottom left of the screen), you can click on it to take care of it.
- You will then see a level of friendship with your Pokémon, as with your friends: 4 hearts. Your goal? Fill them through different quests.
- You can play with him in Augmented Reality using the “Play” option.
- You can give him treats (berries) by clicking on the Berry in the top right
- Every day, you can complete activities to increase your Happiness/Friendship level:
- Walk together 2km
- Give a treat
- Playing together
- Fighting together
- Take a picture
- Visit a new place (pokéstop)
How do I get my Pokémon to walk beside me?
- Prerequisite: Your Pokémon must be “Good Buddy” with you
- Head to the in-game Store to purchase a Poffin. It costs 100 coins.
- By giving it to him, your Buddy Pokémon will appear on screen alongside you for 6 hours.
- It is also possible to give him Berries so that he walks alongside you.
To keep him by your side for 3 hours, you can give him:
- 3 Nanana Berries
- or 3 Nanab Berries
- or 3 Raspberry Berries
- or 2 Silver Nanana Berries
- or 2 Golden Raspberry Berries

Pokémon Friendship Stages
By completing 1 full friendship circle, you can move through different stages with your Pokémon:
- Good friend : It takes 1 heart to reach this stage. The Pokémon can now follow you on the Map and its mood is visible.
- Great friend : It takes 71 hearts to reach this stage. The Pokémon can now help you with catching and finding Gifts.
- Excellent friend : It takes 221 hearts to reach this stage. The Pokémon can now find memories on the Map.
- Best friend : It takes 521 hearts to reach this stage. The Pokémon boosts its CP and you get the “Best Buddy” Ribbon.
A new shared AR mode will also be launching soon, allowing up to 3 players (in AR+) to take a group photo with their Pokémon buddies.
