This Saturday, July 17 and Sunday, July 18, 2021, the new edition of Pokémon GO Fest will take place. Whether you have purchased a paid ticket or not, you will be able to participate in some activities available to all players around the world.
No matter where you are, the event starts at 10am and ends at 6pm on both days. If you want to access more quests, rare Pokémon and in-game bonuses, you can purchase the €4.99 ticket directly from the game’s GO Shop.
What is the Pokémon GO Fest 2021 program?
Throughout the weekend, there will be over 75 species of Pokémon to capture with a higher spawn rate whether in the wild, in eggs or in Raids.
- The creatures found change every hour depending on their habitat: jungle, desert, beach and cave.
- Much more chance of catching shinies,
- A special study ending with the encounter of a mythical Pokémon,
- Zarbi to capture,
- A special Raid day on Sunday with all the Legendaries in the game,
- Bonus XP and free raid passes in the shop, by spinning Pokéstops in gyms or completing limited studies,
- Turn up the sound: new music tracks by Junichi Masuda,
- Special Pikachu with costumes and a music-themed event,
- A Global Challenge Arena where players can raid and unlock special Time and Space-related Bonuses.
Is it better to buy the €4.99 paid ticket?
Pokémon GO Fest 2021 offers a few free bonuses that don’t require you to purchase a ticket. However, if you want early access to a Mythical Pokémon, free extra items, and a host of other bonuses and special research, you’re better off purchasing the paid ticket. Below is a comparison between the paid and free versions of the event.

- It will be possible to make up to 6 Special Exchanges each day from Friday 16th to Monday 19th July,
- Pikachu wearing a special hat inspired by Meloetta will appear in the wild during the event (available in shiny)
- Galarian Ponyta and Galarian Zigzagoon wearing Meloetta-inspired hats will appear in One-Star Raids, as will Solochi.
- Galarian Weezing, Kapoera, and Kranidos will appear in three-star raids.
- New Avatar cosmetic items including the Pokémon GO Fest 2021 Avatar T-shirt free for everyone,
- New shiny Pokémon: Whispermur, Eoko, Nanméouïe and Tritonde will be available for the first time in shiny, And for the paid version: Shiny Zarbi F, Shiny Judokrak and Shiny Karaclée,

4 Things to Prepare for Pokémon GO Fest 2021
Collect your free gifts
Every day, a free gift box is available in the GO Store. On top of that, 3 months of YouTube Premium are offered and a Google Play points multiplier is activated until July 18.
Android smartphone owners will also be able to get a special Google Play gift on July 17. It contains an Incense, a Super Incubator, and 30 Hyper Balls!
If you are attending Pokémon GO Fest with your family, such as your children, don’t forget to prepare some paper decorations. You can make signs of Professor Willow, Spark, Blanche and Candela, but also a Pikachu visor, a Gift, the Poké Ball, the Super Ball or even the Concert Badge.
Expand your storage space
The bag can now store 3,500 items, so don’t hesitate to expand it in anticipation of the multiple rewards you will receive during the Pokémon GO Fest, but also to accumulate a maximum of PokéBalls. You will need them to capture the hundreds of creatures this weekend.
Also, don’t forget to throw away any extra berries (there’s no point in keeping 200!) and sort through your Pokémon.
Pikachu Rock or Pikachu Star?
During the paid event, you will have to choose between the Rock Pikachu and the Star Pikachu at the end of the Special Research. In addition to the different costume, this will also affect the music you will hear in-game and the Pokémon you can encounter.
- By selecting Pikachu Pop Star, you will get an iconic pose for your Avatar,
- By selecting Pikachu Rock Star, you will get a rock pose,
- By selecting Pikachu Pop Star, you will be able to see Gardevoir wearing a Meloetta hat if you make a GO Snapshot,
- By selecting Pikachu Rock Star, you will be able to see Libégon wearing a Meloetta hat if you make a GO Snapshot
Prepare your teams!
