This year, Pokémon GO Fest returns worldwide during the weekend of July 17-18, 2021. With an affordable price of €4.99 (compared to €14.99 last year), the event is an opportunity to enjoy many bonuses, special activities and a very high spawn rate of certain Pokémon. If you are still hesitant to buy the paid ticket for the event, here is a summary table of what can and cannot be done without the ticket.
What can you do without a paid Pokémon GO Fest 2021 ticket?
If you don’t purchase the Pokémon GO Fest 2021 ticket, here are the bonuses and activities you can still enjoy:
- More Pokémon appearing in the wild, including a specially disguised Pikachu!
- On Saturday, four habitats alternate, with wild Pokémon and visual effects on the map based on the themes,
- All Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours,
- Raids and Field Study Missions,
- Hatching distance halved when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during event hours, plus some event Pokémon spawning in 7 km Eggs.
- Photos of Trainers appearing in Today View.
- Background music on the map composed by Pokémon music producer Junichi Masuda.
On the other hand, if you have the paid ticket, here are the additional bonuses you can enjoy:
- An event-exclusive Special Research storyline that will earn you Pokémon items and encounters, including a Mythical Pokémon. Choose between Rocker Pikachu and Star Pikachu, the game’s music depends on your decision.
- Early access to a Mythical Pokémon.
- Take part in the Global Challenge Arena! On Saturdays, play hand-in-hand with Trainers from around the world to unlock bonuses.
- Four Collection Challenges, each themed around a one-hour habitat: Jungle, Mountain Desert, Beach, and Cave.
- Special Pokémon attracted to Incense during the event, including Unown F, Unown G, Pijako, Judokrak, Karaclée, and more.
- On Saturday, there is a greater chance of encountering certain Shiny Pokémon during the event. You will be able to find Shiny Pokémon (both wild and Incense-attracted) more easily on Saturday than on Sunday.

- On Sunday, free bundle containing three Remote Raid Passes, available in the app store during the event.
- On Sundays, earn up to 10 free Raid Passes in Arenas.
- Items worth over 5,000 PokéCoins, including exclusive bundles for ticket holders, bonuses, and research rewards.
